Law School Diaries: Semestral Report (part 1)

During my first week of law school, I attended an institutional mass and I remembered praying for:
1. Strength and health for my day to day struggles
 2. Sanity to pull me off the thick books, long cases, bloody exams and trembling recitations
3. Patience...patience and more patience in dealing with things that are alien to me
4. GOOD set of friends

The first few weeks (or months) were tough. I struggled with almost everything... schedule, mental capacity, new environment, foreign jargons... the list could be unending. Mental capacity? Yes, I struggled  with my low space memory, which stores mainly of worthless stuffs. Memorization and retrieving of data seems very difficult for me. My brain was not prepared for law school. Sure it is. However, my heart refuses to give up.

Strength and health were elusive at first. I either go to school with a weary heart or a hard cough. I even got super sick during the third week. My sanity is keeping me afloat though even during the days when I've got nothing else to do except to read hundred of pages and memorize countless lines. Sure I missed my old life at times. I missed the days when I can stay awake in the most ungodly hours and worry not a single thing the following day. I missed the carefree version of me but I am starting to love the responsible/committed child that is growing in my system.

I have to admit that I always become impatient about how slow the days pass by. I want to fast-forward everything and stop on the day of my graduation. I am glad however that God gave me no choice but to savor both the happy and brutal moments of my chosen field because the low moments made me appreciate the highs even more.

Slowly...
God is granting my prayer.

I am slowly getting used of the system. I am starting to top exams (ahem!) and starting to get the attention of my professors (because of my "bunny ear" head band). I am doing good, I THINK and most of all I am starting to grow my circle. I prayed for a good set of friends and God gave me more than that. He gave me family and friends rolled into one.
